Andrew Patterson & Raenan

Today Andrew Patterson and Raenan came to pt england school and talked to us about achieving our goals and what we are looking forward to next year.What i am looking forward to for next year is been a year 8 and stepping up and been a role model to the little kids in the School when i do that then i know that i am gonna be a role model when i go to college.After the talk we had to watch a video about this boy living without his dad for 5 years because his dad was a mongrel mob member and he got into trouble with the police. During those 5 years without his dad her went to M.H and he went to camp and people had sponsored him to go to the camp he meet alot fiends.

Atheltics Day

Last Friday our very own pt england school had athletics day.Some parents came to watch their kids attend the different rotations.One of my favourite events is sprints and it always has been my favourite event ever since i being at pt england school.Once you go to your event the person that's there will tell you to go into your house colours and line up into 4 lines.Then you will verse 2 house colours and whoever wins gets house points and then we keep playing for 20 minutes until the bugle goes and then you move on to the next event.

I have a question for you what was your favourite event and why?

Mr Patterson

Today Mr Patterson came to have a talk with the year 7&8. 1 thing that i learned from him is that even if you are young,you can change someone's life.Like a 11 year old boy named willy was walking to school and saw a homeless guy sitting.On the floor crying and willy talked to him and the homeless guy said my i got kicked out of my house and my marriage broke.So willy was giving his lunch to him and his money willy was doing that for 2 weeks.


Second thing that i learned today that Karma means that when you do something good you receive it.Be a giver not a taker that means don’t be selfish and give anyone can be a giver.The next thing i learned was Aim for success A stands for aspiration and I stands for inspiration and M stands for motivation.

If you love what you do,you will never work a day in your life.That means if you love been a professional sports player that means you will never work a day in your life.That means you will have a nice house and a nice car for your family thats what i learnt for today.

Blindfold Taste Test

Today Room 4 has been doing food tasting for there Manaiakalani video.First 3 kids had to be blindfolded and they had to wait for miss Judd.To put food in front of them so they can pick it up and eat it.The first one i tasted was chines Dumplings with peanuts init it tasted so yuck and.My neighbour next to me was Jayde and she was so funny because she was the loudest.One on the whole table she kept saying eww yuck and then.The second round miss Judd gave us this wet yuck thing and it was so yuck and then. William puts it in his mouth and tried it and everyone.Started laughing and then miss Judd goes to the 7 kids and rubs it on there face and then finally we finished.

Tongan language Week

Last week we had Togan language week and the theme for that was Fakakoloa Aotearoa Aki Ae Nofo Ae kainga that means Enriching Aotearoa with our family values.On the last day of Togan language week our Togan Pt England students practiced till end the week of.They worked so hard to make there dance look nice and Beautiful When they performed it looked so amazing and Beautiful that it nearly made me cry.

Speeches

Last week Friday we had speeches and we had the Pavilion Coming to listen to the people that were saying there speeches.It was so amazing because some of them could say it of by heart instead of looking at there papers.One of the speeches were sad and it made miss Judd cry because Someone died in there speech.After everyone saying there speeches Miss Judd and Miss Tapuke had to mark there speeches.So sometime this week Miss Judd and Miss Tapuke can tell everyone who one the speech competition.

This pass few weeks i have been learning how to carve.The 1 thing i like about carving was painting and carving the eyes and the forhead but at some stages it was hard and some stages was easy for me but it was fun.I hope you enjoy my carving project .

YR'8 when there gone

For the last three days it has been amazing with miss Ilaoa and miss Judd.On the first day we had to get into our tech groups and pick one boy and one girl to be the leader for our groups after that we had to make a groups chant.Then show it to everyone when we were finish the teacher had to vote.The second day we had a challenge of building a house with marshmallows and food sticks.After that activity we went to tech and then came back and went and did sports one of my favourites sports is netball.The third day we had a shared lunch and another game of sports.After that we did /our team chant and we had a game of building the cups.

Thank you miss judd and miss Ilaoa for seting this games up for us we had alot of fun.

Activity one

The students in room 8 at Te paki school wanted to find out which fruits were preferred by class members.Mr winiata drew some of their suggestions and a ? on the board.

1.Why do you think Mr winiata drew a question mark?I think it means no fruit.

2.Each student chose one of the fruits or the ? and drew it on a blank choice square. Jo collected all these choice square in a box.The students found different ways of arranging the choice square to display the results.
